12-Week 1:1 Coaching Program

The Alcohol Reset

Helping high-functioning professionals reclaim control of alcohol, without shame, extremes, or white-knuckling. Whether you drink daily or only on weekends.

Who this is for

For the high-achiever who knows alcohol has quietly become a default.

High-achieving professionals, men and women, performing well by every external measure, who know alcohol has quietly become a default they’d rather not rely on. Whether that’s an automatic drink most evenings, or a pattern of drinking heavily when the weekend arrives.

Not people in crisis. Not people who identify as having a drinking problem. People with a performance and habits question, daily drinkers who can’t switch off at 5pm, and weekend drinkers who can’t stop once they start.

What makes this different

Not a willpower problem.

Most approaches treat alcohol as a willpower problem. The Alcohol Reset treats it as what it actually is: a nervous system problem, a habit architecture problem, and an identity problem. Nervous system first, understanding why the urge exists before attempting to change it.

Most programmes

  • Focus on the drink, not the driver
  • Lead with abstinence or strict rules
  • Rely on willpower and discipline
  • Treat a slip as failure
  • Ignore the nervous system entirely
  • One-size approach for every person

The Alcohol Reset

  • Addresses the nervous system driver first
  • Client-led path, no forced abstinence
  • Replaces the habit with something that works
  • Treats a slip as data, not failure
  • Builds regulation skills that last
  • Completely personalised to each client
The methodology

Five interlocking pillars.

Together they address the habit at every level, physical, psychological, behavioural, social, and identity.

  1. 01

    Nervous System Regulation

The root cause of most evening and weekend drinking in high-performers is a depleted nervous system reaching for its fastest regulation tool. Breathing, movement, sensory grounding, and cognitive techniques are introduced early and built on throughout.

  2. 02

    Habit Architecture

Alcohol habits follow a predictable structure: cue → routine → reward. The programme works on each element, identifying triggers, redesigning the danger window, and building replacement rituals that meet the same need without the cost. Clients don’t white-knuckle; they replace.

  3. 03

    Nutrition & Sleep Science

Blood sugar dysregulation and poor sleep are two of the most underappreciated drivers of alcohol urges, both the 5pm weekday pull and the Friday escalation. Earlier eating, sleep hygiene, and blood sugar management reduce urge intensity before any willpower is required.

  4. 04

    Psychological & Identity Work

Shame, self-talk, and identity are the layers most programmes ignore. Through structured journaling, self-talk reframing, and a deliberately built identity statement, clients don’t just change what they do, they change how they understand themselves.

  5. 05

    Personalised Path & Future-Proofing

There is no single right path. Clients choose their approach: mindful drinking, gradual reduction, alcohol-free weekdays, intentional weekend drinking, or a temporary reset, based on their specific pattern. The final phase builds a personal philosophy, non-negotiables, and a maintenance plan that lasts well beyond 12 weeks.

The three phases

A 12-week arc.

Weeks 1–4

Awareness & Stabilisation

Nervous system first, where most programmes fail.

The first phase doesn’t rush to change. It builds the foundation: understanding the stress–alcohol loop, mapping triggers, auditing the pattern, and introducing regulation tools. Only in Week 4 does the client choose their path.

  • I finally see my pattern clearly
  • This isn’t a willpower problem, it’s biology
  • My evenings and weekends feel different already
  • Early wins and genuine confidence
Weeks 5–8

Behaviour Change & Identity Shift

Momentum builds. The deep work begins.

Urge surfing and the activity list build the skill of riding out the urge. The stress-stack audit and blood sugar guide address physical drivers. Social scenario planning prepares for real life. The identity and shame work creates the shift that makes change last.

  • I can navigate real life without losing my footing
  • I’m choosing, not white-knuckling
  • The shame is lifting
  • I’m starting to see myself differently
Weeks 9–12

Consolidation & Future-Proofing

Making transformation permanent.

The final phase addresses what most programmes ignore: what happens when things go wrong, and what happens after the programme ends. The slip plan, high-risk scenario planning, philosophy, non-negotiables, and maintenance plan are the client’s to keep.

  • I have a plan for when things get hard
  • I can travel, celebrate & socialise without losing ground
  • I know who I am and what I’m protecting
  • I don’t need the programme to maintain this

About Angie

I don’t just coach this work, I live it.

I’m a performance and habit coach with a background in psychology (UCT), executive and life coaching, and over 20 years working alongside some of the world’s most driven people, in corporate boardrooms, start-up ecosystems, government, and health education.

I served as Programme Director for a Stanford University health-education initiative in Africa, have worked closely with heads of state and global entrepreneurs, co-founded an investment fund, and held executive director roles across telecoms and technology. I’m also a yoga teacher, runner, South African Muay Thai Champion, daily meditator, and mother of three boys.

This programme was built from my own realisation that even one or two glasses of wine each evening was quietly costing me sleep, training performance, and presence. It has since helped both daily drinkers and weekend heavy drinkers, because the nervous system science behind both patterns is the same. Understanding that changed everything.

The next step

A free 30-minute discovery call.

No pitch. No pressure. Just a conversation about where you are and whether this programme is the right fit. If it is, we agree a start date and you receive your welcome email the same day. If it isn’t, I’ll tell you honestly and point you toward what might serve you better.
